Oct. 8, 2025: Eight Years of Community-Centered Science Outreach: Lessons from Science on Tap flyer.

October 8 at 3:30 PM | Mill Mountain, The Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center | Conference details

Discover how Science on Tap New River Valley, a monthly science outreach program, has built dialogue, curiosity, and connection since 2017.

Science on Tap NRV is a monthly program that brings scientists and community members together for meaningful conversations about science. With interactive presentations, speaker support, and a strong organizing team, Science on Tap NRV has created space for dialogue while minimizing barriers to participation.

As part of the 2025 Engagement Scholarship Consortium conference, co-hosted this year by Virginia Tech and being held in Roanoke, this presentation will feature VT faculty and graduate students associated with the Center for Communicating Science. They will share insights from eight years of community-centered programming and offer takeaways for those interested in building sustainable, accessible, and effective science outreach in their own communities.
