Science on Tap: Soil Secrets: What's Happening Beneath Your Feet.

Soil is alive—literally! There’s an entire hidden world beneath your feet powering the landscapes we depend on. Join Dr. Summer Thomas from the Virginia Soil Health Coalition and Caroline Wolcott, a Virginia Tech Ph.D. student, as they explore what makes underground systems thrive, how anyone can assess soil health (yes, even with your underwear), and why it all matters for farms, forests, and backyards. We’ll look at real samples, compare a “soil flight,” and dig into simple ways to discover what’s happening below the surface.

Free and open to the public. Hosted by the Center for Communicating Science at Virginia Tech and Virginia Tech's chapter of Sigma Xi.
